Hi everyone,

Trying to be healthy can be hard at times-- especially having to turn down all of your favourite treats -- but being healthy shouldn't mean you miss out on eating dessert, so I recommend you have a crack at some healthy dessert recipes! However, one thing I personally found when searching through all the 'raw', 'paleo', 'clean-eating' dessert recipes online is that most of them are not worth making, which was disappointing considering the effort and excitement people put into healthy cooking. So on this page, I am going to rate different health recipes so you don't have to get your hopes up about a cheesecake slice that tastes like milky ice! Hopefully, this will make your life easier in selecting a healthy recipe to try out!

The first recipe I will rate is Sarah Wilson's "Healthy Pumpkin pie with cream".

I made this dessert on Halloween, having never tried normal pumpkin pie before. The recipe is sugar-free and low-carb, the only sweetener used being rice malt syrup. I found it delicious and the pumpkin puree added a beautiful natural sweetness! I enjoyed the crust (I used LSA) but found that all of my sugar-eating guests at the time left the crust, probably finding it too savoury. The filling was absolutely delicious and went really well with a dollop of cream!

Overall I rate this recipe an 8/10.

I would definitely make this recipe again and use nut meal instead of LSA. The only thing to consider about this recipe is the prep time, as it takes quite a while to roast and puree pumpkin. But if you're looking for a fun, festive, sugar-free project: I give you... healthy pumpkin pie with cream!
